2. He is increasingly moody.
3. He is defiant. Today I said, "Put your shoes on, boys, we're going to go to Wal-Mart." Ethan said, "I'm not going to!" so I sent him to time-out. He then proceeded to STICK HIS TONGUE OUT AT ME. So I sent him to his room. When he's 14 he'll probably give me the finger.
4. He cares about his clothes. When we finally were on our way to Wal-Mart to get him new underwear, he said, "Mom, I want cool underwear. Kids at school have cool underwear."
5. He has a great sense of humor. His instructor asked him to tell a joke tonight at tae kwon do. "I don't know what a joke is," Ethan replied. "Well, then, tell me something funny." "Monkeys are funny!"
I guess the good news is that I actually like teenagers. :)

Cute! Except I've got you beat in the teenager department. You have to feed to hungry teenage boys, but I have to deal with the drama coming from 3 teenage girls....wanna trade? :) Just kidding of course.
Sage has been eatting like that too, I think maybe she's growing. She is hungry all day long, and she is my healthiest eatter, so she chooses things like broccoli and apple slices to snack on, but she wants them all day long.
Liz, I love your posts- they always make me laugh! Thank you!
You're welcome, Maria! I actually thought this one was kind of lame.
I thought of another reason why he's like a teenager - he sleeps so much! Like 12 hours a night! Of course, he's sleeping 7:30-7:30, not 2 a.m.-noon like a teenager. :)
I can really relate to this post. My four year old, who is my middle child, has always been so easy going and well, just easy. But lately, he is getting a little attitude and having very strong opinions about everything from the shoes he wears to how I comb his hair. Or he just ignores me completely like he doesn't hear anything I am saying. It is very much like a teenager!
Thanks Liz, your post made me realize this phase might just be a normal four year old thing. Either that or kids are hitting puberty REALLY early these days!
