A Fleeting Moment

I'm having one of those moments...the kind where I sit on my couch, quietly working on my laptop while my son reads a stack of picture books and my daughter snoozes in her crib. It's a moment of peace in a normally hectic atmosphere - my home. Try as I may, keeping a peaceful and pleasing home is fairly beyond my realm of reality with two preschoolers. But I don't stress about it.

I just appreciate it all the more when I do find a moment of peace and tranquility in my day. My day, which started at 5:15 AM with both kids bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, Mommy and Daddy suffering major msg-headaches, and progressed to scrubbing the kitchen and mopping the floors.

So I'm sitting in a clean house (okay, somewhat clean house) at 9:00 in the morning and just enjoying this moment of peace.

God bless those fleeting moments! We need them to catch our breath sometimes :) How long did it last?

I had about 45 minutes of bliss...we learn to take our moments where we can get them and appreciate them! Sometimes it's 5 minutes with a glass of lemonade in hand and feet propped up on the coffee table while the kids play. Sometimes it's a magazine and an adirondack chair sidled up to the sandbox...whatever it takes to capture a "Mommy Moment!"

Catching those fleeting moments is one of the best parts of the day sometimes, isn't it? I've found that if I don't pay attention and watch out for them, they actually me by.
