Pour yourself a cup of coffee and pull up a chair...

Hey there! Glad you stopped by Motley Moms today! I'm feeling so relieved now that the big holidays are finished that I thought it would be nice to just sit and chat for a while.

You may be wondering why I'm posting today. Yes, I have been Sunday Mom since I started writing here at MM, but when Bryssy decided to take a break I asked if I could move to Tuesday. Tuesday is an exciting day for me in the blog-o-sphere--have you ever heard of a blog carnival? It's a way of collecting articles about similar topics in one place so that readers can find them more easily. There's Meal Planning Monday and Frugal Friday, amongst others, but the carnival that I'm excited about is Kitchen Tip Tuesday. I love kitchen talk, and when I find something that works I love to tell everyone I know! I'm looking forward to participating in that carnival every now and then.

So on to hotter topics--have you sorted out your summer wardrobe yet? You know what I'm talking about. The poolside wardrobe. Swimsuits. I've spent a great deal of time avoiding them, but my water-loving toddler is probably not going to let that fly this year, so I'm going in a direction I never thought I would travel (at least I never thought I would during my cheerleading days!). I bought a tankini with short bottoms. Would you believe this was really a hard decision to make? I was pretty concerned about tan lines. Tan lines. Isn't that hilarious? Anyway, I picked a pretty sporty looking one, and as a friend pointed out the other day, I wear shorts with my swimsuit most of the time anyway, so why not wear a pair that can actually get wet?

And then there are the things I will do to fit into that new tankini. Cardio last night was a killer! There were so many people in class (which is a good thing) that the only weights left during the lifting segment were the heavier ones (which is not necessarily a good thing). My arms are trembling right now and incredibly sore. Shouldn't there be some point where the workouts get easier? It seems like the more I work out the sorer I get. Or there's some new "level" to jump to, which usually means more work and more soreness. Ugh. The price we pay for health and wellness. And looking hot in a swimsuit.

Well, I won't keep you. I've got some errands to run, and I'm sure you're busy, too. We are moms, right? Thanks for chatting with me today, anyway, and feel free to join in on the conversation. Take care, and have a good day!

I'm really not ready for swimsuit season yet! I need more time! Just another year or two. ;-D

I keep thinking that maybe if I put off going to the pool long enough it will be winter again...

Ugh...bathing suits. I go for swimmy shorts, too.

I am looking forward to summer this year! We have a pool in our backyard and I think (hope!) it will be fun with our little king! Since it is in my backyard I don't have to worry too much about others seeing me! But I think I will go the tankini route as well...I don't need my tummy to show!
Of couse, summer is a little way off here in the great white north!! We are just happy that the snow is gone finally!

How far north are you, Fawnda? A couple years ago we visited my husband's family in Pittsburgh. We went to his brother's baseball game wearing coats and ear muffs. Did I mention it was June?

Rachel, Great to hear from you on TUESDAY! I look forward to reading some of your kitchem tips in the future. Lord knows I can use all the help I can get in that department!

Swimsuit season is still a while away for me, but I cannot wait for my glowing WHITE skin to get a touch of sun! I am actually thinking about getting a spray tan just to tone down the glow a bit. I do feel like a tan makes me look thinner and hides some of the imperfections. I love the tankini, and with shorts the coverage is nice. Have you ever seen the Athleta catalog? It has such cute suits!

Rachel, you're not going to post about great food tips AND remind us about swimsuit season every week, are you? It's like dangling a carrot in front of a horse who doesn't like to walk!

Ugh I got a new swimsuit in a size smaller than last years swimsuit (I am 2 sizes smaller in clothes that I was last year), yet I still feel like a beached whale and have a long way to go before I will feel happy with the way I look.

However I do tan well. :)

Way to go on being down 2 sizes from last year, Lindsay! That's terrific!

Rachel-
we live in the great state of Minnesota... they say the only month that it has never snowed in MN is July... at least there is ONE month!

I'm thinking my first kitchen tip will involve kitchen gadgetry rather than food, so you're safe for a few weeks anyway, Donna!

Way to go Lindsay! Two sizes is a great accomplishment.

Wow--Minnesota IS cold--I've seen Fargo! LOL
