Something That Inspires Me

I am on a mission. The mission to get some things done before my kids are off for the summer. I've already scratched some things off my list that I know I won't get to and am just accepting that my house won't be Pottery Barn perfect any time soon.

So, this post will be a short one. By the way, kudos to Rachel and Pam for those tasty ideas for blueberries and strawberries. I went out and bought some yummy blueberries today and am planning on making that rustic tart soon with the kids.

What keeps you inspired on a daily basis? One thing that I really like to do is to listen to Midday Connection on 91.1 FM at 1PM. I have it on right now and the girls are talking about jealousy. I just love this program because it's always different and it gives really great info on all sorts of women's issues.

I've been listening to this program for years now. Here's the link to their website http://www.moodyradio.org/middayconnection.aspx . They also have a blog (which you can get to on their website) and they're on Facebook. They do a book club and then talk about the book on the show.

I feel like the hosts could be friends of mine. They keep it real and yet they are so encouraging. I love it!

I enjoy listening to podcasts on www.blogtalkradio.com Flylady has a channel with some great shows that play 24/7 as well as new episodes of those shows every week. I also listen to "Eleven Moms Network" sponsored by Walmart--there are some great shows about saving money, and they are all hosted by moms like us! (By the way, Walmart sponsors the network but the content is not influenced by them!) BTR is a fun, easy listen for me while I do chores or while my little guy is taking his nap.

Hope your rustic tart is delicious! Let me know how it works with the blueberries! :)

I miss the christian radio stations down there! There isn't the same variety in music and programs up here. I will have to check it out online! Thanks for the great inspiration! Good luck with the list!

I used to listen to NPR some. It's usually really interesting. I love the John Tesh radio show. I've never heard of the show you're talking about....but, it sounds really neat.

Hi! Well, the blueberries were just INHALED. That's $2.50 gone in 10 seconds, ugh! At least they're healthy. I'm gonna hide the other container.

Rachel, how does the blogtalkradio work? What do I click on? It looks really cool.

Sherrie! It's nice to hear from you! Hope you are doing well... let's chat soon!

Tara, I listen to John Tesh, too! I'm even his Facebook friend! Too funny...

Maria, when you get to the BTR website, scroll to the bottom of the home page and you will see Walmart Elevenmoms on the left and Flylady Way on the right. Click on the one you want and it will show you the list of shows. If you click on the "Host" link instead of the title it will take you to the archives for that show and you can listen to whatever episode you want. Just find a "play" button and it should play through your computer. Browse the categories, too--there are tons of shows for lots of different topics!

Rachel, does John Tesh have interesting status updates? ;)

Um, yeah, all day long. He sent me a free CD for being his Facebook friend, too. No kidding.

I don't watch TV news, but I do like listening to NPR. I feel like I'm getting real news there and I can listen while I make dinner in the evening. I also love listening to "Click and Clack" on "Car Talk"...those guys crack themselves up constantly, which cracks me up! The quiz shows on NPR are pretty funny, too.

I love all my "girl groups" that meet for various things: MOPS, Mother's Forum, Girls' Nite Out, Park Meet-ups, Circle, and Motley Moms. They all inspire me!

I listen to Dave Ramsey's podcast a lot, we've done is program and love him. I have 8 ministers in my family and many of their churches have their sermons podcast on itunes so I listen to those a lot also. Or just could 'ole Christian music to sooth my soal and remind me why I do what I do. :)

As well as my friends and family who give me constant inspiration!
